NEW MIX!: Sipping On Cream Soda

One to help light the flame.

So everyone loves this Bat for Lashes chick nowadays, and for a very good reason: she's the shit. From seeing pictures of her first, I thought "This'll be one of those indie artists that takes really cool pictures but will turn out God-awful." Such is not the case, I am glad to say! So who is this gentleman? Josh Reichmann is his name-o, and he does a pretty kick-ass version of Daniel if I do say so myself. But, let your ears be the judge. Oh, and here's also the "Lo Fi" version of Daniel she played on a BBC session (thanks Stereogum).

A mouth-tingling sugar hiccup.

Behold the Cocteau Twins, one of my favorite acts of all time. Sure I may say that about every other post on this blog, but at least I'm passionate dammit! I was reminded of this ethereal, dream pop band earlier tonight speaking with a long-lost buddy, so here's a couple of tunes. I'm off to burn the midnight oil, so to speak.

Zelda Remixes: Hyperlinks to the Past

I have a lot of studying to do tonight... so I leave you with some nostalgia. The first four are done by Tyler Heath, a four-part Ocarina of Time arrangement that I adore. And the piece after that is by Disco Dan, one of my favorite little collection of Zelda songs. Takes from here and there. Give a listen; some quality artists I must say. Night!

Building a French house.

Enter Louis La Roché, a young dude tearing up the UK house scene. His first heavy hitting EP was "The Peach Album" and is readily available free (and legally so). It was so widely accepted that rumor is some even thought the opening track "Peach" was by Thomas Bangalter. Then again, who isn't trying to live up Daft Punk fame? So the song I'm putting up here is definitely of that same Homework-esque feel, though not quite as raw. Hope y'all enjoy!

Zeppelin reincarnated?

Is that title too cliche? Ah well, fuck it. Here we have Lady Superior, Califor-nigh-yay residents. I've been following them on MySpace for some time now, and just recently they've put out some real quality tracks. Fortunately, I was able to snatch up a demo version of a track, albeit 96 kbps, before they put up the more produced version (which is also very good, but the demo has slight differences).

By the by if you enjoyed that they have a Snocap store here where you can buy their songs. Cheers to all, and keep it tuned to the P!

What happened to Brian?

Wow; guess I haven't been keeping up with the world. Amanda Palmer (of Dresden Dolls, for those who don't know) released a solo CD in October of last year. My opinion? Worlds above Yes, Virginia. While that may offend some DD listeners, I'm glad she's finally got something with not only great production (and not overdone), but also vocal variety.

So here be one of my favorite tracks off of the disc, which I recommend to all of you (especially those who dig the "dark cabaret" genre). It's one of the calmer tracks.

P.S. - I will keep this blog a lot more updated! :D

Futuristic Prince; electronic indie fun!

So this is kind of my test post. Bear with me as I try to get this blog together, especially the layout. Oh the layout... so Futuristic Prince. I heard of these San Fran peeps from a random MySpace add. I sure do hope they post up an EP or something soon. They're starting their own record label called Unicrons, so I'll keep y'all updated.
